Merkmale
Die PCIe x4-Schnittstelle, die nur einen einzigen Steckplatz belegt, überträgt und empfängt bis zu 512 Kanäle von Netzwerk-Audiosignalen über zwei separate RJ45-Anschlüsse. Die Netzwerk-Audiokanäle können teilweise durch MADI-Signale ersetzt (oder im Falle der Milan®-Version erweitert) werden, indem bis zu zwei optionale duale optische oder duale koaxiale Erweiterungskarten hinzugefügt werden. Damit ist es erstmals möglich, vier MADI-Eingangssignale, vier MADI-Ausgangssignale (256 Kanäle) plus 256 Netzwerk-Audiokanäle pro Richtung über ein einziges Audiointerface zu schicken - unter macOS und Windows.
Erweiterbar mit bis zu 512 Kanälen über die optional erhältlichen AoX-MADI-EXT-BNC und AoX-MADI-EXT-SFP
Im Vergleich zu diesen massiven Kanalzahlen nimmt die ¼"-Stereo-Kopfhörerbuchse viel Platz auf der Karte ein - aus gutem Grund, denn sie ermöglicht das Abhören jedes Signals, das die Karte erreicht - vom Computer, dem Netzwerk oder den optionalen MADI-Eingängen. Und um ein weiteres Signal in den Mix einzubringen, steht ein digitaler AES3-Stereo-I/O zusammen mit MIDI über ein Breakout-Kabel zur Verfügung, was sie zu einem vielseitigen und vollwertigen professionellen Interface macht.

Flexibles Mixing & Routing mit TotalMix
Die große Anzahl von Kanälen kann vom Benutzer in zwei Schritten verwaltet werden. Über einen Treiberdialog oder ein Webinterface stellt der Anwender zunächst die Anzahl der Netzwerk- bzw. optionalen MADI-Kanäle ein und wählt dann aus, welche Eingänge die 256-Kanal TotalMix-Engine erreichen. Die restlichen 256 Kanäle werden direkt durchgereicht. Alle 512 Kanäle sind für die DAW zur Aufnahme sichtbar. TotalMix bietet seine Grundfunktionalität ohne Effekte, aber mit all den großen Vorteilen wie Presets, Layouts, Loopback, Sub-Mixes und vielem mehr.
Die Karte kann in externen Thunderbolt™-Gehäusen installiert werden, als perfekte Ergänzung zu mobilen Aufnahme-Setups, oder in gängigen DAWs oder Audioprozessoren eingebaut werden.
