Das MADIface XT war zum Zeitpunkt seines Erscheinens das erste USB 3.0 Audio-Interface der Welt – und beeindruckte mit seiner Kombination aus extrem hoher Kanalzahl, umfassenden Anschlüssen sowie einem kompakten Desktop-Gehäuse. Mit zwei praktischen Mic/Line Vorverstärkern (XLR/TRS-Kombo-Eingänge), zwei symmetrischen XLR-Line-Ausgängen, einem Stereo-Line-Kopfhörerausgang, einer Vielzahl von digitalen Signaloptionen (MADI koaxial und optisch, MIDI/AES, Wordclock), sowie einem zusätzlichen PCIExpress-Anschluss liess das MADIface XT keine Verbindungswünsche offen.
Neue analoge Bestwerte
Der Nachfolger MADIface XT II behält diese Erfolgsformel bei und übertrifft die Signalwerte des Vorgängers in zahlreichen Bereichen. So überzeugt das MADIface XT II unter anderem durch einen höheren Signal-Rausch-Abstand und einen niedrigeren THD-Wert bei der AD-Wandlung.
Weiterhin wurde der maximale symmetrische Line-Ausgangspegel der XLR-Line-Ausgänge von +15 dBu auf +24 dBu erhöht. Auch der Stereo-Kopfhörerausgang des MADIface XT II liefert mit +19 dBu deutlich mehr Ausgangspegel, und mit 1 Ohm Ausgangimpdedanz auch deutlich mehr Leistung als der Vorgänger. Alle Ausgänge verfügen außerdem über mehrere schaltbare Pegeloptionen.
Neue Digitalplatine
Auf der neuen Digitalplatine wurde die bisherige analoge Mini-DIN Buchse zur Fernbedienung einzelner Funktionen gegen einen ARC USB Remote-Port getauscht, der die umfassende Steuerung des MADIface XT II mit der optionalen ARC USB ermöglicht. Das MADIface XT II bietet außerdem den aus dem Fireface UFX III bekannten Room EQ, mit neun parametrischen Bändern für den Einsatz in Surround-Setups für bis zu 20 Mono-Ausgangskanäle.
Leistungsstarke Anwendungen zum Mischen, Überwachen und Messen inklusive
Das MADIface XT II wird mit dem DSP-Mixer TotalMix FX ausgeliefert, der umfangreiche Routing- und Monitoring-Optionen bietet, sowie mit dem DIGICheck Analyzer, der die digitale Dateneinspeisung in beide Richtungen mit höchster Präzision messen und analysieren kann. TotalMix FX kann einen externen Mixer komplett ersetzen und ermöglicht die Erstellung mehrerer latenzfreier Monitor-Mixe mit EQ, Dynamics, Reverb und Delay für beliebige Ausgänge, inkl. Hauptmonitore und Kopfhörer-Mixe für Musiker.
Die zusätzliche TotalMix Remote ist eine Fernbedienung für TotalMix FX, zur Steuerung des Hardware-Mixers und der Effekte in RME-Audiointerfaces. TotalMix Remote spiegelt den aktuellen Zustand des Host-Systems auf dem iPad und Windows/Mac-Computern - den gesamten Mischzustand, das komplette Routing, alle FX-Einstellungen, bis hin zu den Level Metern, und alles in Echtzeit. Passen Sie alle Mixer- und FX-Einstellungen ganz einfach aus der Ferne an, über Ethernet und WiFi.

Clocking im Femto-Bereich
Mit dem aktuellen SteadyClock FS verfügt das MADIface XT II über RMEs neueste Clock- und Jitterunterdrückungs-Technologie. Basierend auf einer Femto-Clock reduziert SteadyClock FS den Eigenjitter-Anteil des MADIface XT II auf einen absoluten Tiefstwert, und filtert Clock Jitter effizient bereits ab 1 Hz.
USB 3 Class Compliant Audio
Das MADIface XT II arbeitet in zwei verschiedenen Modi: treiberbasiertes USB 3 und Class Compliant. Der Class Compliant Modus ist ein Standard, der von Betriebssystemen wie Windows, Mac OSX und Linux-Distributionen nativ unterstützt wird. Es werden keine proprietären Treiber benötigt, das Gerät wird direkt erkannt, wenn die CC-Firmware geladen wird.
Das neue MADIface XT II konzentriert sich auf USB 3.0, da PCIExpress extern nicht mehr nutzbar ist. Im neuen Gerät wurde unter anderem der Class Compliant Modus deutlich aufgewertet, da nun alle 394 Kanäle gleichzeitig auch ohne Treiber übertragen werden können. Zusätzlich gibt es verschiedenste Formate und Einstellungen zur Kanalreihenfolge, um Class Compliant optimal nutzen zu können.
ARC USB Remote Control - Plug’n Play Plus
Die ARC USB wird per USB mit dem Computer verbunden und kommuniziert direkt mit TotalMix FX. Sie ist mit 15 frei zuweisbaren, beleuchteten Tastern, einem Encoder-Rad und einem Klinkenstecker zum Anschließen eines Fußschalters ausgestattet.
Die ARC USB ist eine USB 1.1 MIDI-Fernbedienung für das MADIface XT II. Da sie als Gerät der UAC 1 Klasse arbeitet ist sie nativ kompatibel mit Windows und Mac OS X. Sobald sie im Betriebssystem angemeldet ist, wird die ARC USB automatisch von TotalMix FX erkannt, die Kommunikation zur Steuerung des XT II findet per einfacher MIDI-Befehle statt.
